Mutoh proprietary DropMaster2 technology means constant and uncompromised print quality on any thickness/weight of media used with the XpertJet 1641SR Pro. Whether printing on thin blue back paper to thick pvc banner, DropMaster2 technology, specifically developed for Mutoh’s printers, eliminates the need for cumbersome and time consuming media dependent head adjustments. The Mutoh XpertJet 1641SR PRO has a built-in colour sensor for automatic bidrectional alignment, saving precious time and increasing efficiency.

The Mutoh XpertJet 1641SR PRO is packed with multiple product enhancements to provide ease of use and reliability for many years to come. For worry-free feeding and optimum transport of the widest range of media, including thin, delicate or slippery substate, the XpertJet integrates a Multi-level Pinch Roller system, enabling adaptable pressure on each individual pinch roller. The Enhanced Roll Off System with Media Feed Flanges facilitates easy and convenient single operator media loading. Newly designed Coreless Media Feed Flanges speed up media loading and exchanging of multiple rolls. A LED Touch Display delivers intuitive printer operation, including a colour bar for displaying the printer’s key status. An Illuminated Print Platform provides LED lights for easy inspection and follow up of print jobs in progress. XpertJets are equipped with motorised torque winder. Choose between a 30 kg winder for motorised roll up of media up to 150mm, or a 40 kg winder, suited for media rolls up to 250mm.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor graphics using Mutoh MS41 Sign & Display Inks, XpertJet 1641SR PRO prints are UV and water resistant for up to three years outdoors. Mutoh MS41 Sign & Display Inks are available in 300 ml and 1 liter packs and in four colours, including Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. MS41 will deliver vibrant high density prints with excellent dot gain suited for long term outdoor and interior prints. The ink packs in foil go into re-usable pack cases, reducing waste. LED light indicate ink level status.

With top speeds of up to 41.8m² /h, the Mutoh XpertJet 1641 SR PRO prints on self adhesive PVC at 10.9 m²/hr and on banners/tarps at 15.5 m²/hr.

The Mutoh XpertJet 1641SR PRO is compatible with cost-effective and low maintenance MS41 Sign & Display inks, enabling printing on the widest range of uncoated and coated substrates. There are four ink slots (C,Y,M,K) available on the 1641SR PRO. Output created using MS41 inks are water resistant and offer a UV outdoor resistance of up to three years. For heavy-duty applications where mechanical stress in involved (floor and vehicle graphics), lamination is required. Stabilisation is required prior to lamination. Mutoh’s MS41 inks are available in 300 ml and 1 litre packs in foil, for use in re-usable ink cases included with the XpertJet 1641SR PRO. Mutoh MS41 Inks have Greenguard Gold Certification. As such, the inks meet some of the world’s most stringent and comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air. Prints made with MS41 inks are perfectly suited for indoor applications including offices, classrooms and healthcare environments.

The Mutoh XpertJet 1641SR PRO includes a Motorised Torque Controlled Take-Up System (choose between 30kg up to 150mm, 40kg up to 250mm, or 100kg).

Mutoh VerteLith RIP software optimises performance of the Xpert 1641SR PRO, ideal for intensive graphics applications. Mutoh’s AccuFine extra wide piezo print head featured in the XpertJet 1641SR PRO is 33% wider and contains 11% more nozzles, increasing optical resolution, best-in-class dot placement accuracy and improved nozzle stability and dot quality. Mutoh’s previous staggered dual head setup, and electronics offers a unique blend of high speed and high quality. The wide piezo print head features 8-channel drop-on-demand inkjet technology. Each 1440 nozzle head includes four colour sections (C, M, Y, K) each divided in two nozzle rows with 360 nozzles per colour. All four colour sections are in one head, eliminating the need for head to head calibration. The integrated print heads are capable of producing ink drops ranging from 3.5 picoliters to 35 picoliters, resulting in incredible accuracy, sharpness, and speed. Increased accuracy and consistency of dot size and dot release during printing improves the image, in addition to increased dot gain control, allowing for more latitude in profile settings. New generation electronics include higher carriage speeds and ink firing frequencies and adapted weaving algorithms give an impressive increase in productions speed as well as optimised ink spread and improved drying. High-end piezo print heads have been specially tuned for Mutoh’s genuine sign and display inks. The XpertJet 1641SR has a single head setup, and the XpertJet 1682SR has a dual head on board.

Mutoh’s i-screen technology is built on Intelligent Interweaving, as a fourth generation weaving alogrithm producing overall higher print quality and banding free output over a wider speed range.

Mutoh’s award-winning Intelligent Interweaving print technology drastically reduces or totally eliminates the typical difficulties inherent to conventional digital inkjet printing, including defects such as horizontal banding, ink mottle, bleed and the visible effects of missing or misfiring nozzles. Ink is laid down in waves, as opposed to straight lines used on most wide format printers. The biggest benefit of this proprietary Mutoh print technology is that it offers predictable and repeatable output quality, bringing an unprecedented level of user comfort to the printer operator. Dedicated weave algorithms for XpertJets effortlessly deliver spot on print quality.

DropMaster technology is a Mutoh proprietary feature which eliminates the need for media dependent head adjustments. DropMaster is a revolutionary print automation technique specifically designed for Mutoh’s dual head ValueJet models. DropMaster automatically calculates and adjusts the uni/bi-directional fire timings by analysing the media thickness and drop-throw distance between print head and media surface. With XpertJet, Dropmaster has been taken to the next level: DropMaster2. DropMaster2 works with the built-in XpertJet colour sensor for automatic bidirectional alignment, saving time and increasing efficiency.

Mutoh’s VerteLith genuine RIP software optimises the performance of the XpertJet 1641 SR PRO. It included Mutoh proprietary Clear Tone Screening for better gradients and skin tones, even in 4-colour setup. It also has an extensive features list to tackle any sign & display job.

Mutoh MS41 Inks are Mutoh’s 4th generation of eco inks. The MS41 inks have been specifically developed for the piezo drop-on-demand head technology integrated in Mutoh’s XpertJet Sign & Display printers. MS41 Inks consist of highly durable colour pigments ground to nano-size level, a new blend of milder and non-aggressive solvents and a new mix of resins. The resin mix enables optimum adhesion of the pigments to the substrate and creates a uniform and smooth ink layer. Each individual colour pigment is coated by the resin mix to address the typical requirements of outdoor sign and display prints (gloss preservation, scuff, abrasion and chemical resistance) and to safeguard long-term outdoor durability of the colour pigments. Mutoh MS41 Inks have an excellent weather, abrasion and chemical resistance. UV durability without lamination is rated up to 3 years outdoor.
