Intelligent design features make the ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub easy to set up and operate. The ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub comes with a stand and integrated roll holders and can handle 2″ and 3″ rolls. The ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub comes with a set of pre-mounted and repositionable scroller supports for easy single operator roll loading. Media load levers are positioned both at the front and the back of the VJ-2638W Dye Sub for convenience. These scroller supports enable non-motorised roll-off of rolls up to a weight of 30 kg. Different motorised winding/unwinding systems are available for roll-to-roll production.

A newly designed keyboard with an easy and logical layout makes the ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub easy to operate. Save time with the automatic cutting function. Special ink sub tanks allow uninterrupted printing, even when loading new ink cassettes. A tiltable ink cassette holder saves space and enables the use of different ink volumes. Ultimate flexibility is achieved with Mutoh’s VSM app for remote printer monitoring through a smart phone. The Mutoh ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub incorporates a special print platen structure with three individually controlled heating elements. The heating elements tackle media pre-heating, ink fixation and drying of the prints to cope with higher print speeds and drying efficiency.

The Mutoh ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub works with Mutoh’s new DS2-Series Dye Sublimation Inks. Developed specifically for the ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub print heads, Mutoh’s DS2-Series inks produce excellent nozzle stability for high speed and high volume printing, delivering superior image sharpness and definition. The DS2-Series inks can be used for transfer printing or direct printing onto fabrics such as polyester or mixed fibres. Mutoh’s new water-based dye sublimation inks are odourless, during both the printing and the transfer process and produce rich, vibrant colours and offer excellent colourfastness.

For transfer printing, Mutoh DS2-Series inks are optimised for use in combination with dedicated coated sublimation papers of different weights. In addition to transfer to synthetic fibres, they can also be sued for transfer onto pre-treated rigid substrates (e.g. mugs, plates, magnetic vinyls, wood, place mats, ChromaLuxe plates, tiles, mirrors, acrylic glass, metal, nylon, lighters, pens, CD’s and more). Direct printing on to fabric requires drying and fixation process equipment, a calendar or a heat press.

Using Mutoh’s water-based dye sublimation inks and easily available uncoated recyclable polyester-based materials means there is no need for forced ventilation, as the inks are free from VOCs and hazardous components. Average ink consumption is less than 5ml/m² at 720dpi with 67% coverage. The prints are also odourless. Soft signage is much easier to pack and ship which reduces transport costs, as it fold easily to reduce space and extremely lightweight. Soft signage can be washed, if necessary and re-used without fading. Mutoh water-based dye sublimation inks feature UV durability of 3 to 6 months outdoor. Mutoh’s Water-based dye sublimation inks are available in 1000ml bulk bottles, and will enable you to lower your cost per copy. Paper prints are produced faster, which increases your productivity. Readily available low cost polyester fabrics (uncoated) means you can offer higher end luxurious products with premium appearance, touch and feel, which can be sold at a higher price compared to regular vinyl, paper and banner prints.

Mutoh DS2-Series Dye Sublimation Inks deliver top scores in washing, perspiration, and light fastness properties, including UV durability. DS2 inks are Oeko-Tex compliant. After printing with DS2-Series inks onto transfer paper or polyester fabrics, a sublimation follow-up treatment (transfer) is required, through high pressure and temperature (calender), to fix the colours. When printing directly onto polyester fabrics with this ink type and after sublimation, the fabric needs to be washed before use, to remove the brownish dispersant and to fully release the vibrant colours typical for sublimation inks. Average ink consumption is 8.5 ml/m².

The VM-10 allows fast, simple and accurate colour measuring and process control to your workflow, producing consistent colour prints every time with the on-board ColorVerify system. The Mutoh multi-purpose ValueCut cutter can be run in tandem with the Mutoh ValueJet VJ-2638W Dye Sub, allowing for simultaneous printing and cutting. The Mutoh ValueCut cutting plotter is able to tackle all contour cutting applications such as stickers, short-run decals, window designs and much more. For intensive graphics applications, dedicated RIP software is recommended. SAi FlexiPRINT SE12 Mutoh Edition RIP software for single workstation environments and Onyx 12 RIPCenter ValuePlus Mutoh Edition RIP solutions make it easy to prepare jobs and create sellable prints faster. Both RIP solutions include a fully integrated print and cut workflow.
