SPECIFICATIONS

Intelligent design features make the Mutoh ValueJet VJ-1604X easy to set up and operate. A newly designed keyboard with an easy and logical layout makes the VJ-1604X easy to operate. Save time with the automatic sheet-off cutting function. Special ink sub tanks allow uninterrupted printing, even when loading new ink cassettes. An L-shaped cover has been added to the VJ-1604X to allow easy access for periodic maintenance. Minimum periodic maintenance, flexibility of switching quickly between print jobs, and low ink consumption (average 8 ml/m² on uncoated PVC at 720 dpi with 67% coverage) means the VJ-1604X swiftly turns an investment into profit.

The ValueJet VJ-1604X offers five pre-defined modes including: 540 x 720, 720 x 720, 720 x 1080, 1440 x 720 and 1440 x 1440 dpi so it is easy to select the appropriate settings for the required speed/quality. Experienced users can set up custom print mode parameters.

The Mutoh ValueJet VJ-1604X comes with a stand, integrated roll holders and a 30kg motorised winding system for roll to roll production. The user friendly media system enables frequent material switches. The VJ-1604X incorporates three individually controlled heating elements for pre-heating, ink fixation and drying. The VJ-1604X incorporates a set of scroller supports mounted at the back of the machine. These supports enable non-motorised unwinding of media (2″ and 3″ core) up to a weight of 19 kg. The VJ-1604X printer handles a wide choice of media, including both 2″ and 3″ rolls.

The ValueJet VJ-1604X can be configured with two different ink types, Mutoh Eco Ultra inks and Mutoh Universal Mild Solvent (UMS) inks. Both inks are suitable for long term outdoor applications and are also an excellent choice for durable, photo-realistic prints for indoor usage. Output created using Eco Ultra or UMS inks are water resistant and offer a UV outdoor resistance of up to three years. For heavy-duty applications where mechanical stress in involved (floor and vehicle graphics), lamination is required. Stabilisation is required prior to lamination.

Mutoh Eco Ultra inks, available in 220ml cassettes and 1000ml bulk bags for the ValueJet VJ-1604X, are Mutoh’s third generation eco inks featuring improved ink fixation, better drying and improved scratch-resistance. Mutoh Eco Ultra inks have wide media compatibility, allowing direct printing on to (eco – solvent) coated media as well as on to a wider range of standard available uncoated PVC banner media. Thanks to a fast drying time, low cost media with a standard backing can be used.

Mutoh’s Universal Mild Solvent inks (UMS) are fourth generation, environmentally friendly, mild solvent inks specifically developed for volume-oriented users. Available in 1000ml bulk bottles for the ValueJet VJ-1604X, Mutoh UMS inks feature best-in-class pigments and resins for optimum speed and quality performance. The inks are based on a new generation of milder and non-aggressive solvents. Virtually odour-free, Mutoh UMS inks do not require any forced ventilation. Mutoh UMS inks offer an unrivalled colour gamut, covering 83% of the Pantone C colour chart, and unique media gloss preservation. Suited for both high quality and high speed printing, Mutoh UMS inks also require minimal printer maintenance and are fixed and dried at regular heating temperatures. Mutoh UMS inks have Eurofins “Indoor Air Comfort” certification, showing compliance with emission requirements of all applicable specifications issued by authorities in the EU Member States.

Optional items for the Mutoh ValueJet VJ-1604X include the Mutoh SpectroVue VM-10 Spectrophotometer, Motorised Torque Controlled Take-Up System, the Mutoh ValueCut, the Onyx 12 RIPCenter ValuePlus Mutoh Edition RIP and the SAi FlexiPRINT SE12 Mutoh Edition RIP software. The Mutoh SpectroVue VM-10 spectrophotometer directly attaches to the print head carriage or shuttle of the VJ-1604X printer, enabling the monitoring of colour drift over time, from job-to-job or even within a large job. The VM-10 can also be used to build ICC colour profiles and linearization files, in combination with supporting software. The VM-10 allows fast, simple and accurate colour measuring and process control to your workflow, producing consistent colour prints every time with the on-board ColorVerify system. The Mutoh multi-purpose ValueCut cutter can be run in tandem with the Mutoh ValueJet VJ-1604X, allowing for simultaneous printing and cutting. The Mutoh ValueCut cutting plotter is able to tackle all contour cutting applications such as stickers, short-run decals, window designs and much more. For intensive graphics applications, dedicated RIP software is recommended. SAi FlexiPRINT SE12 Mutoh Edition RIP software for single workstation environments and Onyx 12 RIPCenter ValuePlus Mutoh Edition RIP solutions make it easy to prepare jobs and create sellable prints faster. Both RIP solutions include a fully integrated print and cut workflow.
