KEY FEATURES
Key features of the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF655
The iPF655 24”/A1 large format printer features Canon’s unique 5-colour dye and pigment reactive ink system which produces the sharpest, thinnest lines and the new magenta ink makes the red gamut even better. Designed specifically for CAD & GIS applications, a minimum line width of 0.02mm can be achieved with a range accuracy of +/- 0.01%. This unique formulation improves ink adhesion to the media and minimises colour bleeding. This means clearer text, smoother curves, and sharp fine lines even on uncoated technical papers. Using reactive inks also improves scratch and marker resistance so prints are far more durable than those printed with conventional dye inks.
The iPF655 produces 2400 x 1200 dpi and produces A1 draft prints in just 30 seconds. Canon’s L-COA image processing technology combined with Gigabit Ethernet compatibility ensure stunning high speed reproductions on everything from architectural plans to geographic information. Hot Swap ink tanks allow ink cartridges to be replaced during printing for maximum productivity.
For environments with multiple users, a built-in 80GB hard disk stores print jobs and make processing vector files even easier. Productivity is maintained in networked environments thanks to the Media Mismatch Detection, which works through the hard disk drive. When a job is sent to print with a different media to that which is loaded, the user is informed via the operation panel and given the option to cancel it, print it anyway or change the media. In the meantime, the iPF655 continues with other jobs in the queue.
Designed for practicality and usability, the iPF655 is designed to fit comfortably in any CAD/GIS environment. A compact, slim-line design with a front-loading paper system and a front access ink tank system means you can change paper and ink easily even when printer is installed in a tight space or against a wall. A large, bright, menu-driven LCD control panel gives easy access to sophisticated functions. Prints are automatically stacked and can be collected from a high capacity basket to prevent damage. There’s even a handy print timer to let you know how long a job will take to complete. Borderless printing technology keep you more productive as there is no need for offline trimming and Auto Skew Correction enables unattended printing by automatically adjusting for any skew in orientation and feeds the paper/media correctly.
The iPF655 is economical and efficient, with built-in accounting software, allowing accurate tracking of the cost per print, enabling the ability to view the data through the print driver or export it to a CSV file for use in your own files or systems. An Economy mode can be selected which uses less ink, ideal when printing draft documents. Canon’s eMaintenance software automatically detects and manages mechanical problems and low ink levels, linking directly to a Canon Service Centre for maximum up time.
